Overseas star David Hussey claims he’s still hungry for runs after becoming the first batsman in the country to reach the landmark of 1,000 Championship runs for the season.
The Australian blasted 180 against Gloucestershire - his third century of the summer - and has now scored 1,074 runs at an average of 97.64 in the competition.
And Hussey said: “All I’m interested in doing is scoring as many runs as possible to make sure Notts end up back in Division One.
“I’m not big on setting myself statistical targets, so I wasn’t aware of the fact I was closing in on 1,000 runs.
“I’ve been helped by the fact I’ve slid down the order to number five, so the guys above me have done the hard work and taken the shine off the ball.
“But I’m far from finished and want to help Notts back into the top flight where they belong.”
