Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell has been forced to juggle his resources yet again after seamer Nadeem Malik was recalled from his loan by Worcestershire.
Malik is expected to play in today’s Championship match for Worcestershire against Yorkshire, leaving Newell with another selection headache for the NatWest Pro40 game with Essex tomorrow.
He said: “Unfortunately Nadeem is needed by Worcestershire and it’s just one of those things we have to live with.
“Kyle Hogg’s ankle injury means he has returned to Lancashire, and none of our injured lads are ready to return.
“But I’ve made a few calls and we are hopeful that we will have someone else coming in on loan in time to play against Essex - there are still a few loose ends to tie up at the moment.”
