Up-and-coming Nottinghamshire all-rounder Lily Brown enjoyed a moment in the spotlight last week following her selection as TAUT 100 Sportsperson of the Month.
The 15-year-old is regarded as one of England’s most promising youngsters, having played for Notts Women at the age of just 14 and is aiming to become a future opening bowler for England Women.
The Notts sub-Academy member was awarded a £1,500 grant and a feature interview on Sky Sports News thanks to the TAUT 100, an initiative with SportsAid that aims to support rising sports stars across the UK.
Monthly winners are picked by four-time Olympic gold medallist Sir Matthew Pinsent, who said: “Lily is a great example of why the Taut 100 scheme was set up as it gives athletes like her the opportunity to show case their talent right at the start of their career.
“Lily is a tremendous young athlete with a bright future ahead of her and she more than deserves the support and recognition that we aim to bring through the scheme.”
