Welsh-born all-rounder Prisha Thanawala is a twin product of the Leicestershire pathway and of The Blaze’s regional Academy, the latter of which she graduated from in October 2024.

Having taken 35 wickets for the Academy in 2024 with her off-spin, as well as hitting 102 not out off just 67 balls against Northern Diamonds, she was named in the England squad for the 2025 Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup in Malaysia.

She took five wickets in the tournament, including a best return of 3/19 against New Zealand, as England reached the semi-finals.

Thanawala returned to Leicestershire on loan in 2025, scoring 90 runs across two Metro Bank One Day Cup innings, as well as making her first unofficial appearances for The Blaze first XI, in a pair of mid-season behind-closed-doors T20 friendlies against Surrey.
