Seam bowler Liv Baker is Nottinghamshire-bred, having worked her way through the Green and Gold player pathway alongside playing club cricket for Keyworth.

She was initially part of the Lightning Emerging Players Programme in 2022, before graduating into the Academy in 2023, at the same time the regional side moved their base to Trent Bridge and became known as The Blaze.

In 2024, Baker was named as Academy Player of the Year after picking up 29 wickets in 16 appearances, including 18 in T20 cricket at an average of just 12.22, and in October 2024, she signed her maiden professional contract ahead of the restructure of women’s domestic cricket.

She continued to be involved in the Academy throughout 2025, while also making her Second XI debut away to Lancashire, where she made namesake Olivia Brinsden her maiden Second XI wicket.
