Notts Outlaws’ Second XI cruised to back-to-back T20 victories over Lancashire at Bolton’s Westhoughton CC, as the start of the Vitality Blast draws near.

Led by Sam Seecharan, the Outlaws restricted the hosts to 81 in the first fixture of the day, bowling their opponents out with almost four overs to spare.

There were standout figures of 3/5 from left-arm paceman Josh Croom, with Riley Boswell and Rob Lord picking up two wickets apiece.

In reply, Ben Martindale hammered 44 runs from 34 balls at the top of the order to break the back of the chase, with Henry Rogers hitting the winning runs to secure a seven-wicket triumph with six overs to spare.

Batting first in the day’s second fixture, Seecharan smashed 76 runs from 38 balls, including six fours and five sixes, as the Outlaws posted 212/8.

There was support from Rogers (38 from 29), Travis Holland (32 from 13) and Joe Pocklington (25 from 17) as Notts set a formidable target.

No Lancashire batter passed 22 in reply, with two wickets apiece for Croom and Lord, as Lightning’s Second XI reached 125/8 from 20 overs.
