New Zealand star Finn Allen led Trent Rockets Men’s selections on day two of The Hundred Auction, with the opener commanding a fee of £160,000.
The right-hander, who hit the fastest century in T20 World Cup history in New Zealand’s recent run to the final, was the Rockets’ first pick on day two.
The Rockets squad now boasts the captains of the last four editions of the Men’s Hundred, with Sam Billings (£180,000) and Lewis Gregory (£55,000) both snapped up - the latter returning to the team with which he won the competition in 2022.
Elsewhere, seamers David Payne (£130,000), Craig Overton (£120,000), Matt Henry (£100,000) and Brad Currie (£31,000) were selected, alongside spinner Dan Mousley (£40,000).
Aneurin Donald, Ben Mayes and Louis Kimber (all £31,000), meanwhile, were signed to bolster the Rockets’ batting stock.

“Whether we’ve had a good auction or not will only be proved when we get out on the grass in six months’ time, but I think we’ve come out of today pretty well,” said Trent Rockets Director of Cricket Mick Newell.
“I think at both lunchtimes we were short of players, but not short of ideas, and we managed to open up some new opportunities to sign players that we didn’t think we’d be able to get.
“We learned on day one about the importance of being flexible – you’ve got to identify the types of players you want and work through the players in that skillset.
“We had to move from player to player a little this afternoon, but we’re delighted to have been able to get a big, high-quality squad that comes in under the salary cap.”
The new signings join Tim David, Tom Banton, Ben Duckett and Mitchell Santner in the Rockets Men’s line-up.
They join a 15-strong Rockets Women’s squad, the majority of which was selected on the first day of the Auction.
