George Munsey and Charli Knott have been crowned as the John Pye Auctions Players of the Month for June for Notts Outlaws and The Blaze, respectively.

Opening batter Munsey, 33, enjoyed an outstanding month with the bat as the Outlaws won all six of their Vitality Blast games in June, a streak to which he contributed 289 runs.

He hit four successive half-centuries, two of which were unbeaten, as he at one point went 415 consecutive minutes without leaving the field - the equivalent of almost three full matches.

The Scotland international is the third-highest run-scorer in this season’s Blast, notching a total of 460 to sit behind only Durham’s Alex Lees and Beau Webster of Warwickshire.

Meanwhile, 23-year-old Australian all-rounder Knott similarly shone with bat and ball in June, scoring 117 runs and taking 11 wickets with her off-spin.

She returned figures of 4/17 in a tense 15-run win over Lancashire Thunder at Trent Bridge, before striking an unbeaten 54 from just 35 balls in a more comprehensive nine-wicket win at Essex.

Queensland-born Knott, who has 12 caps for Australia A, has claimed a total of 19 scalps in this season’s Blast to sit joint-top of the wicket-taking charts with Hampshire captain Georgia Adams.

Munsey and Knott were presented with their awards by Hannah Spibey of John Pye Auctions in between the two matches making up The Blaze and Notts Outlaws’ Vitality Blast double-header against Somerset and Leicestershire Foxes, respectively, at Trent Bridge.
