Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club Chief Executive Richard Kenyon has resigned from his post, having accepted an offer to succeed departing Lancashire Cricket Club Chief Executive Daniel Gidney.
Richard joined Nottinghamshire in December 2025, but has taken the decision to return to the north west.
He has ceased operational duties with immediate effect and will serve the remainder of his contractual notice period in accordance with Nottinghamshire’s governance protocols.
Michael Temple, Nottinghamshire’s Commercial Director, has been appointed Interim Chief Executive at Trent Bridge having previously served in the role before Richard’s arrival.
“Richard’s decision to leave is grounded in his ties to his home patch and while I’m disappointed that he is leaving so early in his tenure, I do understand the demands of the role and the lure of working closer to home,” said Nottinghamshire Chairman Andy Hunt.
“Richard made a positive impression at Trent Bridge during a period in which we have maintained strong performances on the pitch, grown commercially and maintained strong operational delivery. We wish him well for the future.
“I’m delighted that Michael has accepted my invitation to take the reins. He has an excellent understanding of our club and our people and he will provide the continuity, energy and leadership we need as we move forward.”
Richard Kenyon said: “Nottinghamshire is a great club, and I will always be grateful for the warm welcome I received from everyone at Trent Bridge. The club is already in a strong position, and with the talent and ambition of its coaching staff and players, its executive and non-executive teams, and the passion of its members, I’m sure there is an even brighter future ahead.
“While the opportunity to join my home county of Lancashire was impossible for me to turn down, I leave Nottinghamshire with nothing but warmth and affection for the club and the people who make it so special.”
