Charli Knott has been confirmed as The Blaze’s John Pye Auctions Player of the Month for July after playing an instrumental role in the side’s Vitality Blast title.

The all-rounder, 23, had a sparkling month that saw her hit 227 runs across six Blast innings at an eye-watering average of 56.75, in addition to claiming 17 wickets at just nine apiece.

Australian Knott was in fine form across all three facets of the game, adding three catches to those numbers, and started off her month with new career-best bowling figures of 6/25.

Not content with that, she then followed up in the week before Finals Day with back-to-back unbeaten scores of 63 and 84 in the space of three days.

Those two knocks teed up wins over Somerset and Yorkshire, respectively, which proved crucial in leading The Blaze into the showpiece at the Kia Oval, from where they romped to the trophy.

Having now returned to her native Queensland, Knott was recognised as the winner of the award prior to the start of play in The Blaze’s Metro Bank One Day Cup fixture against Durham at Trent Bridge.
