Nottinghamshire will begin their Second XI summer in Loughborough, with 23 fixtures scheduled across all formats for the side this season.

A three-day friendly at the Haselgrave Ground will commence on Wednesday 26 March, before trips to Polo Farm in Canterbury and the Utilita Bowl’s Nursery Ground.

Notts’ first scheduled Second XI fixture on home turf will be played between Monday 21 and Thursday 24 April, as the hosts welcome Durham to Lady Bay.

A 50-over friendly is scheduled to be played at Emirates Old Trafford on Tuesday 13 May, with a block of Second XI T20 cricket commencing at Durham’s Seat Unique Riverside on Wednesday 28 May.

Led by former club captain Steven Mullaney, the Second XI claimed the Championship title last summer, and their first scheduled Championship fixture of the summer is set to take place between Monday 16 and Thursday 19 June, as Kent visit the Nottinghamshire Sports Ground.

Further Championship contests against Middlesex, Durham, Glamorgan, Warwickshire and Yorkshire have also been arranged.

Last summer, Notts emerged victorious in five of their eight Second XI Championship matches - losing just once, and drawing the remaining two fixtures.

Ben Martindale finished as Nottinghamshire’s leading run-scorer in the competition, with his 638 runs including two centuries and coming at an average of 58.00.

The competition also gave the likes of Farhan Ahmed and Rob Lord a taste of senior cricket with Notts, prior to their successful elevation into the first team.

Spectators are welcome to witness the Second XI at Lady Bay free of charge, with no need to secure tickets.
