Dane Paterson has been included in South Africa’s 16-man squad for their two-match Test series against West Indies across August.
His selection means he will miss Notts Outlaws’ Metro Bank One Day Cup campaign, before returning for Nottinghamshire’s run-in in the Vitality County Championship.
Paterson retains his place in the Proteas squad following a winter tour to New Zealand during the SA20. Whilst there, he took five wickets in a two-game series.
Those scalps add to the four claimed in his debut series against England in 2020.
