The Blaze captain Kirstie Gordon will join Otago Sparks for the duration of the New Zealand-based side’s Super Smash T20 competition.

In doing so, she will join Sparks Head Coach Craig Cumming who will be The Blaze’s Head Coach from the conclusion of the tournament.

The campaign itself runs from 26 December until the final on 1 February.

Gordon’s selection follows a year in which she again proved her pedigree with the ball, as well as her leadership abilities in guiding The Blaze to Charlotte Edwards Cup glory.

She claimed 22 wickets at an average of 12.50 in the T20 tournament, adding a further 19 in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy.

In a stellar May, Gordon was named PCA Player of the Month after taking 17 wickets at an average of just 10.80, alongside scoring 108 runs.

It will be her second stint as an overseas player in the land of the long white cloud having represented the Sparks seasons years ago.
