Keep up-to-date with the latest from Lancashire as rain has interrupted play at Emirates Old Trafford on day four of Nottinghamshire's visit in their penultimate LV= Insurance County Championship Division One fixture.
Day four, Friday 22 September
2.00pm: We can safely say this inspection will be take place on time, if at all. Puddles are forming on the pitch as rain continues to fall over Manchester.
1.40pm: We'll have a pitch inspection at 2.15pm here at Old Trafford. The covers are coming off in preparation.
12.00pm: Inititally for bad light, we're once again interrupted by rain. Lunch will be taken at 12.30pm before we can have any chance of further play.
10.30am: Light drizzle and spells of heavier rain have caused a slight delay to the resumption of play, but the match will get back underway at 11.00am.
Day three, Thursday 21 September
Play went ahead as scheduled for the morning and afternoon sessions, with a productive outcome for Notts, but the day's play was curtailed by rain not long after the commencing of the evening session.
Day two, Wednesday 20 September
8.45am: Good morning from Emirates Old Trafford! We're still experiencing drizzle after yesterday's washout, with the forecast not particularly promising. We will continue to bring you further updates as they come in.
10.00am: Some good news at last. It's looking brighter here in Manchester and the rain stopped for the time being. There is some hope that there could be some play this afternoon.
10.30am: Yuk - the rain has returned. There will be no play before lunch and we will simply have to sit and wait in hope that the weather curtails. Word on the ground is that the playing surface will take a considerable amount of time to prepare once the rain stops, due to yesterday's heavy downpours.
12.00pm: We've just witnessed another torrential spell, which has now relented but has left very large puddles scattered across the turf.
12.30pm: OFF - the drenched surface is holding plenty of liquid, and day two falls to the same fate as its predecessor. We will see what tomorrow has in store.
Day one, Tuesday 19 September
9.30am: Rain has relentlessly poured down on Manchester throughout the early morning, and the covers are set to remain on at Old Trafford for the foreseeable time.
12.00pm: After a brief break, downpours have resumed with a vengeance. Lunch is set to be taken at 12.30 with the possibility of an inspection should rain come to a halt.
12.25pm: We're taking lunch as rain continues to fall. At least a dozen puddles have emerged across the Old Trafford turf, leaving very little hope of play on day one.
12.50pm: Play abandoned. There will sadly be no play at all on day one of this contest; here's hoping for better fortunes tomorrow.
