Lyndon James praised the attidue and application of friend and teammate Jake Ball on day one against Middlesex, after it was announced the seamer would be departing Trent Bridge after 15 years as a professional.
The 32-year-old took the opening wicket of the game as Notts were asked to bowl first, with James himself claiming the third breakthrough.
It took the young all-rounder to 28 scalps for the season, and he admitted both his wicket-taking return and endurance had bought him delight this season.
