Notts succumbed to a first-inning deficit against Lancashire at Lady Bay, despite stout resistance from the middle order of Sammy King, Sam Seecharan and Fateh Singh.
The homegrown trio helped Notts to 227/7 responding to the visitors’ 426, having been 56/3.
James Hayes had earlier sealed his five-wicket haul having taken four on the opening day.
Tom Loten then made a start with 36, before the Green and Golds stuttered. King made a half-century, though, and was backed up by 36 from Seecharan and 45 for Singh.
The home side then lost their final three wickets for 20 runs, to finish 247 all out, trailing by 179.
