Freddie McCann notched a ton, while Travis Holland fell just short, as Nottinghamshire made inroads into Yorkshire’s first innings lead on the second day at Lady Bay before rain halted proceedings.

Byron Hatton-Lowe also made a swift 71 at better than run-a-ball, as the hosts responded to the White Rose’s 432 all out in the three-day fixture.

The trio’s contributions saw the Green and Golds conclude 138 runs behind with six wickets remaining.

Earlier, Akand Gangotra wrapped up an impressive first day display with his fourth scalp of the innings, before McCann and Holland added 176 for the first wicket inside 34 overs.

The latter - who recently made a T20 ton at the ECB Super 4s competition - fell for 93, including 14 fours and three sixes, before Sam Seecharan fell cheaply shortly after.

McCann and Hatton-Lowe combined to good effect, though, adding 93, before both were caught in the deep, with the former having made a 115.

With 59 overs bowled in the innings, the home side finished 294/4, with one day remaining in the game.
