KLG Rutland have been named as a commercial partner of The Blaze, with the Nottinghamshire-based business to be emblazoned across the sleeve of the shirt worn by the East Midlands outfit.
With headquarters in Beeston, KLG Rutland are a conservatories, doors and windows company who have been serving the East Midlands for half a century.
Their sponsorship comes ahead of The Blaze’s maiden season, after the team representing the East Midlands in domestic women’s cricket switched their base from Loughborough University to Trent Bridge.
“Having supplied the communities that The Blaze represents for 50 years, we wanted our golden anniversary to be about giving something back to those communities," said KLG Rutland's Managing Director Terry Hill.
“There is no better way to do that than by supporting the evolution of women’s cricket, and the impact it makes across grassroots sports in general.
“The team will be an inspiration to many across the region, and we wish the team the best of luck in their first season.”
The shirt adorned by The Blaze, whose roster of internationally capped players includes the likes of Nat Sciver-Brunt, Tammy Beaumont and Nadine de Klerk, will be worn in 21 regular season games, in addition to knockout games should the team qualify.
The first of their 50-over Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy fixtures is on Saturday 22 April against Central Sparks at Trent Bridge.
That competition will bookend the 20-over Charlotte Edwards Cup, which takes place across May and June.
“We are hugely grateful for KLG Rutlands support; they are a business who take pride in serving their local area, and we are similarly proud to represent our region,” James Cutt, the Regional Director of Women’s Cricket, said.
“Women’s cricket is at an exciting time, with increasingly more resources in place to aid our development and this is only going to help us continue to grow.
“We’re rightly ambitious as a region, and to have this support in our first season will doubtless help us to achieve our goals.”
