Trent Bridge emerged from yesterday’s Business of Cricket Awards with a coveted double success: ‘Best International Spectator Experience’ and ‘Most Welcoming Stadia’.
The International Spectator Experience award was adjudicated directly by those who attended matches in 2022.
Opted-in attendees are issued with a questionnaire shortly following the conclusion of each major matchday across the country.
They are each provided with an opportunity to score different aspects of their experience – and their overall enjoyment of the day – out of ten. Trent Bridge emerged victorious on the basis of having been bestowed the highest ranking.
The independently judged ‘Most Welcoming Stadia’ category was inaugurated to recognise the success of venues in attracting and delivering positive experiences to new audiences and spectators.
Over half of Trent Bridge’s audience for The Hundred in 2022 was new to the venue, while 32% of tickets were secured by female buyers amid a year-on-year improvement in spectator experience scores.
Nottinghamshire were also finalists in the Best Communications Campaign category having been entered in recognition of the pre-match, in-game and post-event activity associated with welcoming a capacity crowd to day five of the LV= Insurance Test Match between England and New Zealand in June.
The next opportunities to witness cricket at Trent Bridge will come next summer, with Nottinghamshire’s domestic season set to run from April to September, together with a significant sprinkling of major match action.
The Nottingham venue will host to the solitary Test Match of the multi-format Women’s Ashes series between England and Australia, played over five days starting on Thursday 22 June, followed by the return of The Hundred during the school summer holidays.
England’s men will then return to a venue where they have made history as standard for fixtures against New Zealand and Ireland in Vitality IT20 and One-Day International cricket respectively during September; also, the month during which Trent Bridge once again plays host to the pomp, ceremony and tradition of county cricket’s 50-over One-Day Cup Final.
International tickets, as well as the opportunity to become part of the privileged as a card-carrying member of Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club, are on general sale now…
