As New Zealand visit Trent Bridge to face England for the first time since 2008, celebrations are abound of the rich history of men from the land of the long white cloud to have represented Nottinghamshire down the years.

From Richard Hadlee’s stalwart service of the 70s and 80s, to multiple stints over a 20-year period from Chris Cairns, there are no shortage of players to have worn both the white fern and the green and gold trim with distinction.

Standing tall among them is Stephen Fleming; a man who, despite only gracing the venue with his presence for three years, left with friends and admirers in equal measure, a leadership legacy, a Championship winner’s medal and many a Trent Bridge tale besides.
