Haseeb Hameed admitted one of the more pleasing aspects of his fourth Nottinghamshire hundred was his ability to adapt to the situational requirements after putting his side in the ascendency against Middlesex.
The Green and Gold opener scored his century off 149 balls, but had to remain patient for spells with visiting skipper Tim Murtagh bowling with particular guile.
He cashed in when given the opportunity, however, with Middlex’s first and second change bowlers the victims for the majority of Hameed’s 14 boundaries.
The 25-year-old also praised the contributions of Ben Duckett, Joe Clarke, Steven Mullaney and Lyndon James who all played a part in progressing Notts to a strong position in the game, but warned that his side’s work was far from over with an important few sessions ahead.
