Haseeb Hameed praised the influence of James Hayes and Fateh Singh after the pair produced performances beyond their years in a clash which ultimately saw Notts lose out to Middlesex by 27 runs.
Debutant Hayes returned the Outlaws' best figures of 2-58 from his 10 overs, whilst Singh finished with 1-53 off nine, and struck a rapid 45 to give Notts a sniff of victory.
Their hopes were curated, in large, by Hameed, however, who hit typically elegant 114 from 118 balls, in an innings featuring 13 fours and one six, and Slater - 90 from 95 - with the pair adding 191 for the third wicket.
On that, the captain admitted he was pleased with his own performance, yet ultimately disappointed to lose the game by a fine margin.
