With rain forecast for north Nottinghamshire for much of the day, the latest Welbeck weather updates will appear below.

Notts Outlaws and Somerset are in action at the outpost venue with the scheduled hours of play 11am to 6.45pm.

9.15am

There’s no sunshine, the outfield is a little moist, the forecast is questionable and the flags we shall not be a-cracking.

But… it’s not currently raining and the covers have been pulled back from the pitch.

The toss is scheduled for 10.30am.

9.25pm

The skies have darkened a little, the ground staff are hovering, a few drops of rain are appearing and the first of the covers have ominously, proactively been pulled into position.

Pre match practice, however, continues in earnest.

Here’s hoping it’s still a case of if rather than when.

9.55am

Conditions have decidedly improved, with a little blue sky now peaking its way through the clouds.

The forecast for later remains a concern, but hopes of a prompt toss at 10.30 are currently high.

12:10pm

There are a few spots of rain currently falling, but they are only very light at the moment.

Play is continuing as normal, with the Outlaws now 20 overs into their innings.

12:20pm - Play Suspended

The spots of rain have gathered more weight, and have forced the players from the field.

The Outlaws are 92-2 after 21 overs.

2.30pm - The rain continues

'One day like this a year will see me right', croons Guy Garvey over the Welbeck Cricket Club public address system. But as the rain continues to fall, the soundtrack feels a touch ironic.

Scheduled inspections at 2pm and 2.30pm have come and gone, as the precipitation continues.
