The decisive Test between England and West Indies at Emirates Old Trafford, which begins today, will feature a range of initiatives in support of the Ruth Strauss Foundation.
The foundation, named in honour of Sir Andrew Strauss' late wife Ruth, is asking those involved in cricket to turn 'Red for Ruth' during the fixture.
Players from both sides will wear shirts with the Ruth Strauss Foundation logo and red playing numbers, and the in-ground branding will turn red in support of the campaign.
Meanwhile the #RedForRuth auction is live until 8pm on Monday 27 July, with bids being invited on a range of experiences and memorabilia.
Star lots include match-worn signed shirts and caps from England and the West Indies, a batting masterclass and lunch with Sir Andrew Strauss, Sir Ian Botham and Sir Alastair Cook, and a dinner for six cooked by Michelin-star chef Tom Kerridge at your home.
Bids can be placed here.
The Ruth Strauss Foundation works to raise funds to train care professionals in supporting families with dependent children when a parent is facing a terminal diagnosis.
In 2019, over £550,000 was raised for the foundation by #RedForRuth activities during the Lord’s Ashes Test.
