Stuart Broad is set to lead the England attack once more after being named in the squad for the final Ashes Test of the summer at The Oval.
Broad has flourished in the role as the national side’s senior bowler in the continued absence of James Anderson, taking 19 wickets at 26.63.
The Nottinghamshire seamer will also be looking to continue his stranglehold over David Warner, having dismissed the Australia opener six times in the series to date.
The fifth Test of the series begins on Thursday 12 September. Australia have already retained the Ashes after triumphing at Old Trafford, with England needing victory to prevent the old enemy from winning the urn outright.
England squad for fifth Test: Joe Root (capt), Jofra Archer, Jonny Bairstow (wk), Stuart Broad, Rory Burns, Jos Buttler (wk), Sam Curran, Joe Denly, Jack Leach, Craig Overton, Jason Roy, Ben Stokes, Chris Woakes.
