The next generation of cricket-lovers are being given the chance to join in with the fun of the ICC Cricket World Cup at Family Days across the country from 7th–9th June.
Over 100 cricket clubs across Nottinghamshire are taking part in the Family Days, throwing open their doors to welcome local players, families and volunteers.
Clubs will host coaching sessions for children, as well as women’s and girls’ softball cricket sessions and taster sessions which are open to all.
Some clubs will also be showing World Cup matches live on screens, on a weekend which includes England’s group game against Bangladesh and India vs Australia.
“We are calling all cricket and sports fans to get behind this weekend in what will be a really fun day for families across the country,” said Tom Harrison, ECB Chief Executive Officer.
“The Cricket World Cup Clubs initiative is a great way to celebrate the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup and an unforgettable summer of cricket.
“Your local club will be the best place to share this great event with family and friends.”
Each club will have its own schedule of events for the weekend. Find your nearest participating club via the Cricket World Cup Clubs Programme website here.
