Jack Blatherwick took four wickets as Lancashire set up an intriguing final day of their clash with Nottinghamshire’s Second XI at Lady Bay.
The paceman had the Lancs top order reeling in his opening spell, luring both Taylor Cornall (13) and Brooke Guest (0) into edging behind.
But from 22-2, Lancashire were able to rebuild, with Danny Lamb (24), Ed Fluck (24) and George Lavelle proving able foils for Owais Shah.
Lavelle and Shah would put on 90 for the fifth wicket before the former England international hit Mitchell Todd into the hands of short mid-off for 105.
Shah had anchored his side’s innings expertly, and Lavelle continued to accumulate even as Nicholas Greenwood (8) and Tom Hartley (8) were removed by Chris Gibson and Blatherwick respectively.
Lavelle would be dismissed by Lyndon James for 75, before Mark Footitt’s snaring of Chris Sanders triggered the Lancashire declaration on 330-9.
Blatherwick finished with 4-80, and then watched on as Notts found batting conditions challenging in the final 11 overs of the day.
Gibson (3) and Ben Slater (1) were both removed cheaply, leaving Adeel Shafique (11*) and day one hero Liam Patterson-White (13*) to steer Notts to 35-2 at the close, leading by 30.
