New footage from the Notts Outlaws dressing room shows T20 captain Dan Christian challenging his side to peak at Finals Day on 21 September.
Following a bumper crowd of 12,613 for the opening fixture against the Worcestershire Rapids, there are six further opportunities to catch the Outlaws in T20 action at Trent Bridge this summer. Secure your seats….
The behind the scenes video, captured for the documentary series All In during the aftermath of Thursday’s defeat to the Worcestershire Rapids, sees Christian strike a bullish and positive tone.
“There’s a really long way to go,” he says. “The final on 21 September is when we’ve got to peak.
“Keep improving from now until then, and we’ll win that final.
“Stay nice and positive, keep working on things to improve, and we’ll be fine.”
Episode 3 of All In takes viewers into hospital with Steven Mullaney before and after his recent knee operation.
It also gets inside the Outlaws’ pre-match huddle as T20 debutants Ben Duckett and Joe Clarke are handed their caps with profound speeches from Jake Ball and Alex Hales respectively.
Ball, a product of the Nottinghamshire Academy and age-group system, asks Duckett to treasure his Outlaws cap every bit as much as the England equivalent.
“We received our ODI caps together back in Bangladesh,” says the Notts and England fast bowler.
“I know how much it meant to you. I hope this one means just as much to you.
“Everyone here knows exactly what you can do because you’ve done it against us for many years.
“So, go out there, enjoy yourself and put a show on for the crowd.”
Upon handing the cap to Clarke, Hales speaks passionately about how fortunate the Outlaws are to call Trent Bridge their cricketing home.
“Having played here for 12 years, there is 100% no better ground in the country to play T20 cricket,” says the 141-time England international.
“Hopefully for you it’s the start of a very long and successful stint at this club. I can also guarantee that you’ll make a lot of special memories – some of the best you’ll have in your career.”
