Jack Blatherwick took a 4-wicket haul as Nottinghamshire Second XI beat Worcestershire by 7-wickets on the final day of their Second XI championship fixture.

Worcestershire headed into the fourth day still trailing by 32 run and resumed their second innings from the overnight score of 96-3 with Alex Milton not out 27 and Joe Leach not out 2.

Leach was the first man out as Chappell snared him for 18 and he was soon followed back to the pavilion by Banton (1) as Patterson-White (pictured) trapped him LBW.

Chris Gibson then joined the wickets column as he accounted for Ross Clarke (10), caught by Lyndon James.

Josh Tongue offered some lower order resistance, but when Kashif Ali had him caught by Chappell for 27, the visitors subsided to 285 all out.

The wickets were shared between the bowlers with Blatherwick the standout claiming four, Chappell (2), Ali (2), Patterson-White (1) and James (1).

The Notts chase got off to a flying start as Gibson hit 38 from 32 deliveries to set the tone.

Liam Patterson-White scored 40, but it was Ben Compton who hit an unbeaten 54 to guide Notts to victory.

The winning runs came with a four from James (22*) off the last ball of the 34th taking the score to 161-3, Nottinghamshire winning by 7 wickets.

Notts take 24 points for their final championship match of the season.
