Josh Porter and Tom Batterham took four wickets each to bowl Nottinghamshire Under-17s to victory over neighbours Derbyshire at Rolleston on Dove.
The visitors won the toss and elected to bat first in the friendly match and closed their innings on 214-8 from their 50 overs, in which Derbyshire’s Bacon took 3-19.
Under-15 player Ben Martindale (pictured) led the way with 74 not out, while openers Jack Towers contributed 35 and number 10 Batterham 41 not out off 58 balls.
In reply, Derbyshire started well enough and were 124-2 at one stage in pursuit of the victory target, with Hassan (75) and Allen (28) putting on 91 for the third wicket.
But right-arm seamer Porter (4-27) accounted for Hassan and off-spinner Batterham (4-24) had Allen stumped off his bowling, and from then on the home side struggled, with the eventual winning margin standing at 42 runs.
