Connor Marshall struck 132 from just 110 balls as the Academy annihilated their Derbyshire equivalents by 262 runs at Lady Bay.

Derbyshire won the toss and stuck the hosts into bat first, with Tom Keast making a quickfire 55 at the top of the order.

Marshall found good support from Chris Gibson in the middle overs as the pair added 221 for the third wicket before the latter fell for a 52-ball 56.

However, that didn’t faze Marshall, who continued to pepper the boundary on a regular basis, reaching his century off 90 balls.

He was eventually the 7th man to fall, run out for 132, but Liam Patterson-White (42*) ensured the impetus remained with Nottinghamshire, the hosts all out for 360.

From the off, Derbyshire were on the back foot, quickly reduced to 6-3 as Jack Blatherwick (2-19) and Nick Kimber (1-36) made early inroads.

There was no let up from the Nottinghamshire bowlers, as Ishraf Jandhu (1-13) and Jordan Cook each nipped in with a wicket of their own.

Cook (3-22) then joined forces with Joey Evison (2-7) to blast through the lower order of the visitors, Derbyshire stuttering to 98 all out, giving Nottinghamshire a comprehensive victory.
