Joey Evison hit a sparkling century for Nottinghamshire Under-17s but still ended up on the losing side in their match with Worcestershire at RGS.
After winning the toss and batting first, the visitors’ Evison hit 134 and put on 119 for the second wicket alongside Hassan Chaudry (36).
Nick Kimber (20), Callum Metcalf (22) and Josh Porter (26) also made useful contributions as Notts made 279-5 in sunny conditions, with C. Greening (3-47) the most successful home side bowler.
In reply, Worcestershire were indebted in their successful chase of 283-9 to X. Clarke’s 123, as they ran out victors by one wicket.
Porter (3-40), Zane Ramzan (2-47), Evison (2-59) and two run outs accounted for the wickets to fall.
