Steven Mullaney has been rewarded for some outstanding performances during May by being named Nottinghamshire’s Player of the Month, sponsored by John Pye Auctions.
The Club skipper began the month by scoring the first century of the Green and Golds’ County Championship Division One campaign.
His 130 against Hampshire, compiled from 189 balls and containing 12 fours and fours sixes, laid the foundations for a 203-run win, a third of the season in four-day cricket.
As the cricket switched to the group stages of the Royal London One-Day Cup, Mullaney hit 70 against Lancashire, 71 against Northants, 29 against Leicestershire and 15 against Warwickshire.
With ball in hand, he bowled thrifty spells on 1-36, 1-56, 0-29 and 0-50 in those respective matches and also captained the side with astute tactical awareness.
“To be chosen by the management as Player of the Month for May is very pleasing and hopefully I can now keep my form going through to the end of the season.” said Mullaney.
He was presented with his award by John Pye’s Marketing Manager, Faye Rollinson, before the start of Notts Outlaws’ Royal London One-Day Cup fixture with Derbyshire.
