Riki Wessels recounted his experiences of playing cricket across the globe as the guest speaker at February’s Trent Bridge lunch.
The powerful batsman spoke of playing all over the world, including in Australia, South Africa and Bangladesh, among others, as well as his recent success in the Hong Kong T20 Blitz competition with the Hong Hum Jaguars.
The right-hander – top scorer for the Outlaws in last summer’s T20 Blast (now Vitality Blast) – also recalled his memories of last year’s white ball double success and Nottinghamshire’s promotion back to Division One of the Specsavers County Championship, plus his hopes for the 2018 summer.
More than 100 people attended the event in the Derek Randall Suite, which included a two-course meal.
Client Relationship Manager Mark Worrall said: “Our thanks go to Riki for coming along and sharing his thoughts on a wide variety of topics.
“It’s great to get that player insight, especially from someone who knows not only the county game inside out, but has also played all around the world.”
