Six fixtures have been arranged Nottinghamshire’s Academy side for the 2018 summer.

The team’s first match will see them make the short trip to take on Loughborough University in a three-day game from 3 to 5 April.

Another three-day away fixture follows from 10 to 12 April against Lincolnshire at a venue to be confirmed.

Four one-day fixtures follow, all at Lady Bay against fellow county Academy sides, with the visit of Leicestershire first up on 22 April.

Further matches then follow against Warwickshire on 29 April, Derbyshire on 6 May and Lancashire on 27 May.

The fixtures have been slotted in so as not to clash with Second XI fixtures, allowing players to contest matches at both levels.

“It’s good to benchmark yourselves against what are perceived as being some of the best Academies in the country.”

They also avoid Saturdays, meaning players will still be able to turn out for a Club side in the Nottinghamshire Premier League.

“I think the games against the other Academies are pretty big games and ones to look forward to,” said the Club’s Elite Pathway Manager, Matt Wood.

“It’s good to benchmark yourselves against what are perceived as being some of the best Academies in the country in the cases of Lancashire and Warwickshire. It will be good to see how our players measure up in those games.

“They are all friendly games. This is the starting point for their season, but there will be other games added later in the summer.”
