After a record breaking month, Samit Patel has been named Nottinghamshire’s player of the month for June.
After becoming the first ever Notts player to hit back to back double hundreds, Patel eventually amassed 692 runs from just four innings.
At the start of the month Patel beat his career best First-Class score with 257 not out in a draw with Gloucestershire at Bristol.
Patel’s 19 hours and 55 minutes at the crease also included an unbeaten 122 that steered Notts to a record List A run chase at Chelmsford and into the Royal London One-Day Cup Final, which will be played at Lord's on Saturday July 1.
