Matt Carter took three wickets in four balls but couldn’t prevent Nottinghamshire’s Second XI slipping to a defeat against MCC Young Cricketers.
The spinners deadly spell came in the 16th over as he took the home side from 100-3 to 100-6 but MCC didn’t lose another batsman as they won by 4 wickets.
Earlier, Notts made 134 in their twenty overs thanks to a knock of 70 from Greg Smith.
However, an unbeaten 87 from MCC opener Ben Curren guided the home side to their target of 135 in 19.1 overs.
Notts also suffered defeat in the first twenty over match of the day at Northwood.
Connor Marshall, who posted 33, was the only batter to score over 30 as Notts were reduced to 108-8 from their 20 overs.
The game went down to the final ball however, with MCC needing two to win Andrew Sivarajah hit Brett Hutton for four to give MCC a one wicket victory.
Matt Carter was again the pick of the Notts bowlers as he finished with figures of 3-23 from his 4 over spell.
