Nottinghamshire’s Academy side got back to winning ways with a comfortable victory over Farnsfield on Saturday as Jordan Cook claimed a four-wicket haul.
Beaten by Plumtree in their previous fixture, this time the team were too good for their visitors to the Nottinghamshire Sports Ground, running out winners by 81 runs.
As the hosts were put in to bat, they accumulated 255-3, led by opener Louis Kimber’s 79 from 90 balls, which included six fours and three sixes.
Connor Marshall scored 60 not out and Liam Pattinson White (pictured) 58 not out as the pair then put on an unbroken fourth-wicket stand of 116.
Farnsfield’s reply began solidly enough as Matthew Sisson hit 50 at the top of the order in tandem with Steve Musgrove, who scored 18, to put on 78 for the opening wicket.
But once Patterson-White, who took 2-25, accounted for both, wickets tumbled steadily thereafter, with tall off-spinner Cook ripping through the middle order with 4-34.
His victims included Nottinghamshire staff members Paul Franks and Brett Hutton as Farnsfield were all out for 174. Another on the books at Trent Bridge, Ben Kitt, offered the only late order resistance in scoring 41 not out.
