Nottinghamshire’s Second XI were made to toil on day one of their County Championship match with Leicestershire at Lady Bay, despite three wickets for Jordan Cook.
The off-spinner claimed 3-74 as Leicestershire scored 335-7 after the hosts had won the toss and decided to field.
Leicestershire made a very strong start as Tom Wells weighed in with 58, AJ Ball scored 82 and Rob Sayer chipped in with 89, the latter two players putting on 142 for the third wicket.
Notts did make some inroads from there through Cook, while there were also wickets for Reicko Parker-Cole, Liam Patterson-White and Ish Sodhi (pictured), who was getting some valuable game time ahead of his expected involvement in NatWest T20 Blast Finals Day at the weekend.
Anuj Dal also affected a run-out for the other wicket to fall.
At the close, Dieter Klein was unbeaten on 22 and Matthew McKiernan was on 9.
