A full complement of current internationals is available as Notts Outlaws face Yorkshire in the 50-over Royal London One-Day Cup at Trent Bridge on Saturday (11am start).
The Outlaws can call upon the England trio of Stuart Broad, Alex Hales and Jake Ball, as well as Australian international paceman James Pattinson.
Pattinson, who has begun his Notts career with 20 wickets, in three matches, at an average of 11 in first-class cricket, could come into direct conflict with his fellow Victorian Peter Handscomb.
And although Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, David Willey, Liam Plunkett and Adil Rashid will soon be teammates of Hales and Ball with three lions on their chests, it’s the stag versus the white rose that will be occupying each of their minds come Saturday.
“Someone is going to win a trophy halfway through the season. That’s a great carrot for everyone,” said Nottinghamshire Head Coach Peter Moores.
“The thought of playing a 50 over final at Lord’s and winning is great for any player. It’s right up there, so we’re up for this competition.
Moores has watched his side begin the Specsavers County Championship season with a trio of victories, against Leicestershire, Durham and Sussex.
With the international pedigree on show, the former England Coach is hoping for a healthy attendance as his side aim to start their white ball season in a similar vain.
“It’s an exciting year for one-day cricket in England with the Champions Trophy,” he said.
“A big crowd for the first game would make a real difference to the players. We’re hoping for a great atmosphere.
“There will be so many internationals involved and Trent Bridge is a fantastic ground on which to play and watch. It would be great if people come out and support us."
