The NatWest T20 Blast may not get underway until Friday, but Nottinghamshire’s Second XI are four games in to their equivalent campaign and face a pivotal double header against Lancashire tomorrow.

The Outlaws, who have lost each of their four matches in the competition to date, have named a youthful squad for the fixture, led by Academy graduate Sam Wood who has begun the season in fine form across all formats.

Unfamiliar faces in the 13-man squad include former Yorkshire wicketkeeper/batsman Dan Hodgson, who will play as a batsman, 19-year-old trialist batsman Ben Curran and Sydney Sixers seamer Trent Lawford.

Brendan Taylor, who has two half-centuries during the competition to date, has since been recalled to first team duty in the Specsavers County Championship against Warwickshire.

The Outlaws leading performers with the ball, however, are set to feature – Ben Kitt having taken five tournament wickets so far while the home-grown spin duo of Connor Marshall and Matthew Carter have maintained impressive economy rates of 4.80 and 6.42 respectively.

Lancashire, who triumphed inside two days in the Second XI Championship fixture at the same venue yesterday, have played just one T20 this season to date, collapsing to 65-5 against Warwickshire before rain brought proceedings to a premature end.
