The middle order trio of Dan Hodgson, Tom Moores and Anuj Dal dominated on the opening day of Nottinghamshire’s Second XI fixture against Leicestershire.
The visitors posted 397 all out at Hinckley with Hodgson’s 93 off 194 balls the most telling contribution, a knock that included nine boundaries.
The former Yorkshire man posted 172 alongside Dal (54) before Tom Moores took over the running, batting with the tail to add a sprightly unbeaten 89 off 112 deliveries, as Ben Kitt hung around to post a diligent 24 at the other end.
The home side’s first innings will commence at the start of the second day with a youthful bowling attack, including Academy prospects Ben Kitt, Jack Blatherwick and Liam Patterson-White, aiming to make inroads against Nottinghamshire’s East Midlands rivals.
