Nottinghamshire’s Seconds raced to a seven-wicket victory on the second day of their Championship clash with Yorkshire as 20 wickets fell at Trent College.

The hosts were bowled out for 152 in their first innings, a deficit of five, before skittling Yorkshire for 66 and knocking off the 71 required for victory for the loss of just three wickets.

At the start of the day, Will Gidman (59*) and Dominic Brown (25*) resumed the Nottinghamshire innings on 109-3; with aims of building a substantial first innings lead.

However, the returning Ryan Sidebottom had other ideas, removing both batsmen and Sam Wood without scoring on his way to figures of 5-19.

Notts keeper Adeel Shafique added 21 from number seven but James Logan (3-21) finished off the tail to ensure the visitors took a narrow first innings lead of five runs.

Yorkshire were in trouble early on in their second innings, falling to 6-4 as Ben Kitt (2-19) struck in successive deliveries in the fourth over to take him past 70 wickets in the season.

They went to lunch on 19-5 and after the break continued to lose wickets at regular intervals, eventually all out for 66 as Wood (3-13) and Brown (3-17) ripped through the middle order.

Nottinghamshire had a few early scares but eased to 75-3, Joe Barrett (27), Anuj Dal (10*) and Brown (19*) all providing handy contributions.
