A five wicket haul from Matthew Carter sealed victory for Nottinghamshire’s Second XI against Durham at Lady Bay.
The 20-year-old twirler took 5-43 as the visitors were bowled out for 205 in their second innings, losing by 181 runs.
The day began with Chris Read completing a 49-ball half-century, including four sixes, as Nottinghamshire declared their second innings on 409 - Tom Moores having starred with a brutal 139 on the previous day.
The cameo left Durham chasing 387 to win and, with Ben Kitt taking two early wickets to complete match figures of 6-83, the north-easterners were never realistically in the running.
Former England wicketkeeper Phil Mustard scored a sprightly 40, Mark Wood contributed 56 in the middle order and Usman Arshad contributed 32, but the Durham lower order had no answer to Carter, whose match figures read 8 for 112 from 48 exemplary overs.
