Nottinghamshire’s Riki Wessels is today making his debut for the Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League.
The 30-year-old is listed to bat at number six and keep wicket for the franchise that also includes Mohammad Amir, Ravi Bopara and Schoaib Malik.
Today’s match against Peshawar Zalmi is the final group stage fixture as Wessels and the Kings aim to qualify for the competition’s playoffs.
The Kings have won the toss and elected to bat in Dubai with Wessels and his teammates facing a bowling attack that features Shahid Afridi, Abdur Rehman and Darren Sammy.
Wessels will join the Nottinghamshire training camp in Dubai at the conclusion of the Kings' involvement in the competition.
The 2015 season saw dramatic last-gasp four day victories, thrilling limited-overs contests and an historic Investec Ashes Test, all in the unique surroundings of Trent Bridge.
Next season, we’d wager, will be no less enthralling and frankly we’d hate for you to miss out.
