After an unforgettable summer in 2015, the seventh season in succession in which Trent Bridge has been voted as the Best Customer Experience in the game, the venue will host England's Royal London One-Day Internationals against Sri Lanka on Tuesday 21 June and Pakistan on Tuesday 30 August in 2016.
The match against Sri Lanka is the first in the five match series with England aiming to avenge defeats in all three formats during the previous encounters against Angelo Mathews’ men in 2014.
Sri Lanka, who lie just three points ahead of England in the ODI rankings and feature one of the world’s leading spin bowlers Rangana Herath, will provide tough and streetwise opposition to Eoin Morgan’s men, who won so impressively on their previous ODI visit to Trent Bridge chasing 350 against World Cup finalists New Zealand.
The One-Day International against Pakistan will follow clashes at the Ageas Bowl and Lord’s and will provide the latest instalment in a compelling ongoing drama between the two nations, after England were denied an against-the-odds victory in controversial circumstances at the conclusion of the recent first Test in Abu Dhabi.
