Nottinghamshire's Academy fell to a seven-wicket defeat to Plumtree, despite encouraging starts from Anuj Dal and Adam Tillcock.
After losing the toss, the Academy found progress difficult through the early overs. Hassan Azad, Sam Wood and Simon Webster all lost their wickets, before a 58-run partnership between Adam Tillcock and Anuj Dal pushed the Academy on.
Tillcock became Graeme White’s first victim, the former Outlaw trapping him LBW for 34. He then accounted for Dal two overs later. At 93-5 the hosts were on top, and scores of 18 from both Brett Hutton and Luke Wood saw the Academy through to 136 all out. Matt Milnes finished with 4-29 off 13, and White 4-47 off 13.5.
Plumtree had 52 overs to reach their target, but a sharp throw from Simon Webster to run out Ben Storey for six offered the Academy hope. However, the home side progressed steadily until the 23rd, when Elliott Bowles bowled Sam Storey for 47.
David Bedlingham joined Ben Milnes, but Luke Wood claimed the latter’s wicket in the 29th over. From there, the pair saw out the remaining runs to end on 138-3.
