Gary Keedy is in line to make his competitive debut for Nottinghamshire against Warwickshire at Edgbaston.
Nottinghamshire sit second in division one of the LV= County Championship ahead of the game and will assess conditions before finalising their team selection.
“We’ve struggled at Edgbaston in the past but we’ve got a nicely balanced squad to take them on and, whatever wicket they prepare for us, we’ll have a selection that we feel is right to take them on,” said Nottinghamshire’s Assistant Manager Wayne Noon.
“Gary’s in the squad and he may come into our thinking once we’ve had a look at the pitch. Jeetan Patel has had a big influence in some of their matches this season and we may need to counter that.”
Luke Fletcher is the only other new name in a 13-man squad otherwise comprised of the eleven that beat Somerset in the previous round of LV= County Championship matches.
Michael Lumb (arm) and Andy Carter (back) are the only players out of contention while Warwickshire are expected to include Jonathan Trott in their side.
“Jonathan hasn’t had success in the first team this year but we don’t know what to expect given that he has shown some form in the second eleven,” said Noon.
“We’ve got more batting bonus points than anyone so our build up will focus on trying to help our players to continue to do what they’ve been doing in recent weeks but to remind them too that we start this game with no runs or wickets on the board.”
