Luke Wood took 6-7 as the Nottinghamshire Academy inflicted a heavy defeat on Papplewick.
After winning the toss and putting Papplewick in to bat, Notts’ first wicket arrived in the 8th over, Wood trapping McIver with the score on 22. He took two more in the same over, bowling Rostance and trapping Ross Fitz-John both without scoring.
At 22-3, they were afforded no chance to recover, as Bacon caught McComb off Bacon and Wood added another to his tally, rattling the pads of Bowers in front of his stumps.
At this stage in the tenth over Papplewick were 32-5, and wickets continued to fall each over. Hutton and Wood were trading wickets. First, Hutton bowlerd Morton for 0, before Wood removed Peat’s bales to reduce them further to 34-7. Hutton and Wood both bowled one more apiece, and after Nelson and Stewart departed the score lay at 42-9.
Jim Rhodes offered resistance before being bowled by Bacon for 16. The final total stood at 59, with Luke Wood finishing with 6-7 off seven overs, and Hutton 3-26 off his seven.
Bacon and Marshall opened the reply, but both openers fell without scoring, Notts 21-2 Brett Hutton was joined by Cross, but the former gifted a catch off Rhodes for 21. At 28-3 Hassan Azad came to the crease and the pair passed the total in the 12th over, finishing on 62-3. Cross finished 22 not out, and Azad 6 not out.
