James Taylor will return to the Nottinghamshire team to face Somerset in the LV= County Championship after Kevin Pietersen proved his fitness in time to line-up against Australia at Old Trafford in the third Investec Ashes Test.
Taylor had been included in the initial England squad and made a century in a guest appearance for Sussex against Australia.
“He’ll be a little disappointed to not be playing for England, but it’s obviously a massive boost for us for the fixture against Somerset,” said Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell.
“He’ll join up with us this later on this afternoon, and will be ready to go tomorrow morning,
“Over the past year we’ve been helping him to develop, prepare for Test cricket, and it’s something we’ll continue to do. He’s an excellent player, and we all know he has a bright future ahead.
“I have no doubt that he’ll be motivated, prepared and ready to go for us.”
“He’s got a big quarter final to look forward to, and he’s a player who will be key to our progression through these important fixtures at the end of our campaigns.”
